Stay Tuned: What if ‘Real Housewives’ were only contestants on ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’?
Tuesday night brings new drama with “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Frankly, any drama outside of the White House is welcomed around here, so I will be tuning in to see what happens. Please tell me I’m not the only one who wants to see fancy cars, beautiful scenery, watch some messy drama and maybe even witness someone tossing something (at a non-moving object, of course.)
One of my biggest wishes is Bravo and NBC work together to merge the “Housewives” series with “The New Celebrity Apprentice” for a season. Now wait, before you roll your eyes, hear me out. Arnold Schwarzenegger has a real interesting approach when it comes to boardroom antics. How he would handle the reality stars could be interesting….no scratch that…would be hilarious. Viewers would tune in to see how he deals with feisty, independent and full of gusto women. And the fans will cheer on their favorite ladies too.
Kyle Richards and Porsha Williams were on the current season of “The Celebrity Apprentice” and they showcased their personal styles and work ethic in entirely different ways. If you liked the Bravo reality stars, it was a reason to tune in to the NBC show. These ladies are ratings gold and they know how to stoke their fans to make things happen. It’s a win-win for viewers AND for the networks.
For years Bravo has kept the “Real Housewives” series cast members clustered within their respective shows, except for the reunion show. And let’s be honest, that’s sort of boring. Andy Cohen has done a great job of highlighting the ladies in different ways and he’s always been super respectful. Yet, the fans of the Bravo series’ (all of them) want to see the ladies more often and mingling of the different shows has always been a secret desire of the super fans.
It’s unclear if “The New Celebrity Apprentice” will get another season on NBC. Hopefully the producers will consider ways to spin this show to make it even better (remember moons ago it used to be regular people on the show?) If they considered the MANY reality stars from the “Real Housewives” series, the built in viewers from Bravo will be tuning in even if the show is on NBC. Add that the charities the ladies work with could benefit, the fans get more quality programming and Arnold Schwarzenegger can come up with a new catch phrase. See why someone should be on the phone with Andy ASAP pitching this idea? It would be unbelievably awesome.
