Is Aaron Paul making a ‘Better Call Saul’ season 3 cameo?

Better Call Saul season 3The following news may have you screaming “yeah b—h” at the top of your lungs, provided of course that Jesse Pinkman was your favorite “Breaking Bad” character and you’ve been incredibly eager to pop up at some point on AMC’s “Better Call Saul.”

During an appearance on “Ellen” this week in order to promote the latest season of “The Path,” Aaron Paul suggested that he may have already shot something for season 3 — maybe. He doesn’t tip his cap too much one way or the other if he is turning up, but he also isn’t exactly shying away from the idea. We personally think if there was zero chance he’d be turning up this season, Paul would just say that rather than giving anyone hope of a Jesse cameo down the road.

While this is absolutely something in theory to be excited about, there is one thing that you still have to remember here: This is just a cameo still if it happens. Aaron is not going to become a series regular as this character, especially since this show is not Jesse’s story. It’s about Jimmy McGill becoming Saul Goodman, and how Mike Ehrmantraut becomes involved in the operation that eventually has him being one of the power players in the New Mexico drug business. If we see Jesse, it will probably be for a season 2 or two before he goes about his merry way.

In the past, both Paul and his former co-star Bryan Cranston have expressed an openness to appear on an upcoming season of “Better Call Saul,” but at the same time made it really clear that there were no plans that they had at the moment in order to have either of them appear on the first two seasons. The simple reasoning for that is the desire to have “Better Call Saul” stand on its own two feet, and not be a carbon copy of anything that came on the air before it.

If you missed it, we already know that Giancarlo Esposito is going to be appearing on season 3 as Gus Fring.
