‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13 spoilers: Jackson’s father coming aboard

Jackson -Who is Dr. Jackson Avery’s father? It’s a great question, but at the same time, one that the show has yet to formally answer. We’ve come to know Jesse Williams very well as his “Grey’s Anatomy” character, and see a lot of what makes Jackson tick and what makes him the person that he is. For the most part, a big part of his relationship is informed by the one that he has with his mother Catherine Avery (Debbie Allen), a powerful woman who, at the same time, also proves to be a thorn in Jackson’s side here and there because of her need of control in almost every situation.

So what’s the character’s father like? That is something that we’re very much interested in learning more about.

Speaking per Entertainment Weekly, Sarah Drew (April) confirmed that we would be getting a chance to meet the character a little down the road this season, and the prospect of that is alone is exciting — even if there isn’t exactly a whole lot else that is known about the casting just yet. This would certainly lead to some great material for Williams, who is already going to have one great episode this season for sure as we get a chance to see a story with him and Drew that will bring Jackson and April closer together. Is it possible that these stories could be in the same episode? Sure, but it’s better not to jump to conclusions.

Hopefully, the prospect of some more great stuff one way or another when it comes to Jackson will help to ease the wait ever so slightly for the show to be back with new episodes. As of right now, the return date is Thursday, January 26, and hopefully there’ll be enough in that episode to make it worth the wait. We do know that over the course of that episode, multiple characters are going to be heading off to jail to deal with an extremely difficult patient there.
