‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ episode 3 video: Does Laila Ali’s task need more humor?

Laila -

Two episodes in to “The Celebrity Apprentice” this season, and it feels fairly clear that this is not going altogether well for some of the women this season. They’ve lost the first two tasks, and as a result of that, they’re now working at a disadvantage with fewer team members.

Can that be an advantage? Sure, if everyone is working as a team because the odds of six people being cohesive are better than eight. However, it doesn’t appear based on the sneak peek below from Monday’s episode that the six people in this particular occasion are. They’re disjointed, dysfunctional, and they don’t have a unified idea as to how to finish the task at hand: Some sort of promotional experience for Welch’s with the help of one Rocco DiSpirito, famed celebrity chef.

This preview (via Us Weekly) gives you a sense that Laila Ali is the Project Manager, and she’s come up with a talk-show environment to talk about healthy living. However, there does seem to be one key component missing here: Entertainment. This needs to be funny and engaging, since otherwise it’s going to be very difficult to convince people to watch. Kyle Richards and Brooke Burke seem to have more concerns than anyone; yet, at the same time Ali doesn’t seem to be anywhere near as concerned over it.

The biggest surprise that we get out of this is that this is a team with Snooki and Porsha Williams on it, who are two people known for being high-energy and extremely entertaining. Maybe in this particular environment they are considering themselves to be a little more serious, but they may need to tap into some of that energy in the event they want to have a shot at this. If this team keeps getting whittled down, eventually we do think that the show will have to force a switch-up of the teams sooner than they would have liked to otherwise.
