Golden Globes 2017: Will Kerry Washington, Riley Keough, or Sarah Paulson win Limited Series / Movie Actress?

Globes -

We’ve only got a few days to go until we get to the Golden Globes airing on NBC, and with that, we’ve got a few more categories that we’re going to be analyzing over the course of the days ahead! That includes today, where we are going to take on the prize of Actress in a Limited Series / TV Movie.

In continuing what has become a little bit of an ongoing theme as of late, this is a very complicated category, and one where we have a wide array of talented people involved. However, only one person can win, and the HFPA has the challenge of trying to figure out who should get the trophy come January 8. Take a look at our analysis of the field below, and be sure at the end to vote for your own favorite!

The nominees

Felicity Huffman, “American Crime

Riley Keough, “The Girlfriend Experience”

Sarah Paulson, “The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story

Charlotte Rampling, “London Spy”

Kerry Washington, “Confirmation”

Who will win – When looking at this group, it feels like the easy consensus pick is going to be Paulson based on past voting trends from other awards shows, and we understand that given that her take on Marcia Clark may be the finest TV performance in all of 2016. It was both empowering and heartbreaking at the same time, and we’re now sure that we’ve had a fuller picture of any person in some time. There are some other great performances in this field, but other than a possible upset from Washington, it’s hard to see any other result. (We are happy to see Keough on the list for a show that didn’t have a huge viewership.)

Who should win – It still has to be Paulson, though we would probably put Keough and Washington at a close second and third, closer than many other analysts out there. Huffman and Rampling are both tremendous performers, and our feeling here is that they will have many other opportunities for nominations in the future.

Now, let’s turn this over to you! Happy voting…
