‘The Man in the High Castle’ renewed for season 3 by Amazon
For those out there who enjoy Amazon’s “The Man in the High Castle,” rest assured that you’re getting a whole lot more of the show now moving into the future. Today, it was confirmed that the show is returning for a third season; Happy New Year, everyone!
Not only that, but there is officially a creative change as Eric Overmyer (“The Affair”) is going to be taking over as showrunner. There’s been a lot of behind-the-scenes upheaval on the show over time, and we’re sure that this is something that the streaming service wanted given how successful the show is. While we don’t know precise ratings, everything that we’ve heard suggests that the drama is one of their biggest hits.
In a statement confirming the renewal news, Amazon Studios’ own comedy / drama chief Joe Lewis had the following to say:
“As timely as ever, the exploration of characters at a dark point for humanity has provided incredible stories for two seasons … Eric and his team are doing an incredible job crafting stories about the inner lives of those who struggle to do good in a world that is not. We couldn’t be more excited to bring Season 3 to customers in 2017.”
We’ll see what happens when the third season premieres, but don’t worry if you’re still behind on the second season: There’s still a rather-long time to wait between now and when the latest episodes are on the air! We like to think that this offers up plenty of opportunities for you to catch up.
