‘Bones’ season 12, episode 1 video: The quest to save Brennan heats up

The season premiere of “Bones” is just a matter of a week away, but you don’t have to wait any longer at all to see some more footage of what to expect from it — and precisely how hard the various members of the team at the Jeffersonian are going to work in order to ensure that Brennan emerges from her crisis in one piece.

In the latest sneak peek below (via E! News), you can see Cam and Angela try to take the reigns when it comes to one key part of the investigation in particular: Trying to figure out precisely where Brennan could be located now. There’s not much in the way of evidence that they are finding, but they do stumble across something very interesting: Zack did not seemingly tamper with any of the security cameras that were present on the outside of the Jeffersonian. Therefore, in turn it’s possible that she may still be somewhere within there.

On some sort of meta level, this may also make some sense given that Zack always did fashion himself the “King of the Lab” — why would he want to venture far from a place that was in his mind his home for the time in which he was on the show?

Here’s the sad news for these characters: Knowing where Zack is located is just a part of the problem, since from there they start to move into what is the next major issue: Trying to find a proper way in order to stop him. This is of course assuming that he is even evil in his intentions, given that this is something that, at this particular point in time, is not entirely clear. Despite his misgivings, there is still a major part of us that wants to believe that Zack somehow is not too nefarious in this scheme.
