Where, when to watch ‘Elf,’ ‘A Christmas Story,’ ‘It’s a Wonderful Life,’ and other Christmas movies

We know that Christmas is the sort of holiday with all sorts of traditions around it, but at the same time, it’s easy to forget to plan ahead for some of these traditions while you’re busy preparing for everything else that is going on with celebrations and the like. Therefore, who’s going to blame you if you don’t have a copy of “Elf” lying around?

“It’s a Wonderful Life” – 8:00 p.m., NBC

“A Christmas Story” – The annual 24-hour marathon starts on TNT / TBS at 8:00 p.m.

“National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” – 9:45 p.m., Freeform

Unfortunately, there aren’t any listings to report at the moment for “The Muppet Christmas Carol,” which is by far our own personal favorite Christmas carol just for the sort of magic, heart, and humor that it provides. We definitely recommend going out and seeking it out in the event that you haven’t seen it before now.
