‘Lethal Weapon’ spoilers: Is there hope ahead for Riggs?

Lethal -The first season of “Lethal Weapon” is currently on hiatus until the new year, and just like you shouldn’t forget about the show while it’s gone, there are also certain story elements that shouldn’t be forgotten. One of these revolves a little bit around what Riggs is going through when it comes to figuring out what happened to his late wife Miranda. He is the sort of person who, understandably, is going to obsess over every little detail that comes out about the case, especially when it comes to the idea that was planted in his head regarding whether or not the car crash was an accident.

While we do think that Riggs may be able to get on the other side of his grief eventually, there isn’t much evidence that this is going to be happening in the immediate future. As a matter of fact, here is what executive producer Matt Miller had to say on the subject to TVLine:

“We want to drag Riggs a little bit through the mud before he gets better … But then there are going to be moments within our back half of the season where he is better, and you feel like this guy has improved.”

Ultimately, we would liken him dealing with his grief to a roller-coaster to a certain extent, one with a wide array of different ups and downs. Some days he’ll feel a little more capable of moving forward than others. Another more apt analogy, at least when it comes to the emotional side of things, is a recurring dream. On the nights when you don’t have it, maybe you function a little more normally than on some of the nights when you do and it haunts you throughout the day to come.
