‘Outlander’ season 3: Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe answer new fan questions
The latest example of this comes via the latest Entertainment Tonight video below, which is from the show’s set in Scotland. In this clip, you can see Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe taking some questions from fans, and many of them are particularly lighthearted and fun. For example, you get to hear about holiday plans, celebrity crushes, and how Sam has apparently not heard of “Lip Sync Battle,” which may or may not be a good thing depending on who you are.
There of course aren’t any major spoilers for the third season in here, but the two do continue to work about how separate they’ve been from each other through most of production, a move that is saddening but also one that makes sense given the trajectory of the source material at present. Plus, it’s well-documented that Claire and Jamie will find each other eventually, so there is that reunion moment to look forward to.
Overall, these sort of videos are great as a source of laughs, but they also touch on something we alluded to further in our recent piece discussing why the fandom for this show is so unified and strong: There’s a real spirit of passion and interactivity here, such as how the stars of the show are accessible and are a part of the world even when they are not in character. Seeing that they have such a fun rapport together and can poke fun of themselves is always something that you like to see and it makes them more relatable to the audience.
Hopefully, this continues to just be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to news that is coming over the weeks and months ahead — the Droughtlander is still long-lasting, and there may need to be another oasis or two along the way.
