Is ‘The Walking Dead’ season 7, episode 9 new tonight on AMC?
Last week certainly proved to be a big one on “The Walking Dead,” especially in terms of getting a chance to see the foundation of the show be shaken up once more in some form. We saw the departure of Olivia and Spencer, and Rick Grimes also seems to be back closer to his old self: Ready to take on Negan without so much hesitation, and with vengeance as a primary motivating factor. This is more of the Rick we’ve come to know over the course of the entire series.
Now, we come bearing a little bit of bad news, for those who missed it last week: There is no new episode airing tonight on AMC. This is the first time for the next several weeks that we’re going to be saying that, and when you stop for a minute to think about it, it’s really standard operating procedure: This show airs eight episodes, goes on a break, and then airs the other eight. The second half of the season will be premiering in mid-February.
As for precisely what you can expect to see when the show does return to AMC, one of the biggest things is that this is going to offer up an opportunity in order to see more of the group actually together. Daryl is coming back after some time at the Sanctuary, while Tara’s also returned from her ill-fated run. The idea of the Kingdom will be further introduced, and from there the show may be able to reunite Morgan with the group — and eventually Carol.
The idea that we can think of here in moving forward with the show is that they really need to have all hands on deck in order to pull off what’s coming over the course of the remainder of the season, especially when it comes to getting the resources together in order to challenge Negan, let alone the actual part where everyone comes together in order to properly take the character on.
