Is ‘Arrow’ season 5, episode 10 new tonight? The darkness ahead
Last week, “Arrow” aired its winter finale on The CW, and we cannot exactly say that it was the sort of episode that is going to inspire a lot of love and goodwill for people during the hiatus. It may actually be the most insane thing that the series has done to date when it comes to capping off a stretch of episodes.
Basically, where we left off was after Evelyn Sharp revealed herself as a traitor, and when Oliver, in his attempts to stop Prometheus once and for all, ended up killing Felicity’s boyfriend Billy Malone instead. Meanwhile, John Diggle was also captured, which leaves the Green Arrow without too much in terms of a support system. Felicity may not hold what happened against him, but that doesn’t mean she will be emotionally okay. As a matter of fact, what happened here could propel her down a pretty dark path.
It’s too bad that unfortunately, there is not a new episode coming on the air on Wednesday night, as the show’s going to be off now for more than a good month. The show is returning on January 25, which is going to be a tough amount of time to wait. If there is a silver lining here, it’s mostly that the show is going to be airing a number of episodes in succession after it comes back, and will probably only leave a run of around four or five for the end of the season in April / May. We’ll see more of what happens when we roll around to that point.
For now, we recommend just going back and checking out some old episodes — we do genuinely believe that this was the best stretch we’ve had since season 2, and the show’s back with the same identity that it once had.
