‘Full House,’ ‘Fuller House’ creator actually buys famous San Francisco home

This is the sort of story that you would never believe at first to be true, which is in part what makes it so fun in the end.

In a post on Twitter, “Full House” / “Fuller House” creator Jeff Franklin confirmed that he actually purchased the famous Tanner home that was at the center of, at the very least, many of the exterior shots of the series. The house was originally on the market for over $4 million, which should be a further reminder that nostalgia sells in today’s TV climate. Plus, it’s California, so you may as well double the listing price as a result of that. (You could easily do that again just because it’s San Francisco.)

This story was originally reported via THR, with Franklin telling the website that he plans on using the place potentially for filming “Fuller House,” provided that the show snags a season 3 renewal on Netflix:

“We would take advantage of the fact that I now own the house, and we could go up there and shoot some new footage and maybe bring the cast up and shoot with them up there.”

As much as he may love owning it, it doesn’t seem as though Franklin is planning to move up there permanently — he intends at some point to rent it out, but has some work that he wants to do to it first.

While we know that the characters at the center of both series are fictional, we still have to admit that there’s something very much delightful about the fact that someone responsible for the creation of it all now gets to hold on to a place that is so iconic to many fans out there.
