‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: What former star will be advising Nick Viall?

It was only yesterday that we first reported that Nick Viall is officially done filming his season of “The Bachelor,” and we’ve also learned now that another tradition this season is going to be holding firm this time around: Former stars of the show stopping by to offer up a little bit of their own advice to him regarding the journey.

We cannot tell you every person who will be stopping by, but we know that one of them will be former star Chris Soules, who reportedly said (per People Magazine) while at the Rewind Convention in Bloomingdale, Illinois that he will be appearing, probably during the early going on his season:

“I will be on Nick’s season giving him advice … I don’t know why they’re having us give advice when we’ve been unsuccessful on this journey.”

We do like that Chris seems to be well aware of the utter ridiculousness that is associated with having him be an adviser to someone given his own romantic misgivings on the show. He did get engaged to Whitney Bischoff, but it didn’t end up working out — not that there’s anything wrong with that, given that we’re sure that they tried to make things work. We do think that there is something to be learned from former series stars appearing on the show, even if it is just as simple as them talking a little bit about what they tried to do to make the experience work for them — even if it didn’t, isn’t there still something they can pass along in terms of advice? Maybe they made some mistakes along the way that someone like Nick can correct.

The new season of “The Bachelor” will start on Monday, January 2 on ABC.
