NBC’s ‘The Voice’ iTunes results: Sundance Head, Billy Gilman strong; Aaron Gibson recovers
The early results are in when it comes to “The Voice,” and how some of the contestants are faring this season on the iTunes charts. What are we looking at here? Let’s just say that there are some elements that were expected, but there are a few surprises sprinkled in here as well.
We begin with Sundance Head, given that he is the first artist this season to have a song in the top ten. His version of Alicia Keys’ “No One” is proof that country artists don’t necessarily need to do country songs in order to chart high. At the moment, he’s sitting pretty up at #9. Billy Gilman, meanwhile, is not all that far behind with his own rendition of “All I Ask.” These rankings are enough to effectively ensure that the two are safe for at least one more week.
As for what’s happening elsewhere, you have to start with We McDonald sitting at #35 with “Love on the Brain,” given that she also performed last on last night’s show and should be more than fine entering tonight’s show. Meanwhile, Aaron Gibson recovered from needing the #VoiceSave to get to #39 with “Hurt,” while Brendan Fletcher wasn’t that far behind with “The River.” We think that these two guys are likely safe, as well.
Meanwhile, we consider Darby Walker (#45 for “You Don’t Own Me”) and Austin Allsup (#46 for “Turn the Page”) as people who could potentially also be in the clear — though for the time being, we’re a little bit more on the fence about their own long-term odds.
If you click this link, you’ll get a good sense from us as to who the artists in danger could be heading into tonight’s show! Let’s just say, for now, that you should expect a little bit of drama and unpredictability to take place. It wouldn’t be “The Voice” without it.
