‘Gotham’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Dexter’ alum James Remar to play Jim Gordon’s uncle
Through many years on “Dexter,” James Remar played the conscience in Dexter Morgan’s head, the father figure he so sorely still needed alive to help him control his Dark Passenger. Now, Remar’s coming over to “Gotham,” and hopefully in this instance he is going to be playing a role who can communicate with a wider array of people.
Per a report from TVLine, the actor is set up to play Jim Gordon’s uncle Frank, a man who, per the official description, “is a master at playing both sides and a man who knows how to keep a secret. Frank abandoned the family after Jim’s father’s fatal car crash and now, 25 years later, he’s returned to reconnect with his estranged nephew. But Frank harbors a dark secret, one that will upset the very foundations of Jim’s world and force him into a terrible choice between saving his family and saving his city.”
You cannot really be altogether surprised about this news, given that Jim pretty much perpetually spends all of his spare time watching the world around him crumble. If there is ever someone who needs a hug and/or a vacation, it’s him. Also this season in particular has all about Jim making choices whether it be being a cop or not, Valery or Lee, or whether he’s good or bad at his core. This will be yet another test for Jim to face and make a choice about.
You will have an opportunity to see Remar for the first time in this role starting in the new year — the final episode of “Gotham” season 3 is going to be slated to air on Fox next week. We’re going to have some other information about that said episode as we get a little bit closer to it airing, but early indications suggest that Alice’s blood virus is going to continue to spread, and that puts the entire city into varying degrees of jeopardy.
Do you like the idea of Remar becoming part of the “Gotham” universe and do you think he will end up being helpful for Jim or just another problem? Leave us a comment in the box below.
