‘Blindspot’ season 2, episode 10 preview: When will Jaimie Alexander, cast return?
Tonight, “Blindspot” is airing potentially their biggest and most dangerous episode of the year, given the talk of Phase 2, Sandstorm, and Jane Doe separated from the remainder of her team. The stakes couldn’t be higher, and the final minutes are set to drop some potentially enormous surprises on all of us.
Unfortunately, the bad news is this: This is also going to be the last episode of “Blindspot” that we end up seeing for a rather-long time. What’s the reason for that? Well, a great deal of it has to do with the fact that tonight’s the winter finale, and the show’s gotta go away eventually for a break! This allows the production to keep ahead of schedule compared to when the episodes air, and NBC also wants to ensure that there are some more episodes of the show to air in the new year.
Hopefully, we’re going to get a precise return date on when Jaimie Alexander and company are going to be coming back on the air tonight courtesy of NBC; many signs point to it being January 4, given that this is when timeslot companions “Law & Order: SVU” and “Chicago PD” are also coming back. However, this is not 100% confirmed.
One consideration that you also have to take into account for this show in particular going into the new year is that there have been many more episodes of “Blindspot” that have come on the air than either of the other two Wednesday-night NBC shows. It had the benefit of starting early following the “America’s Got Talent” finale in September, and it also aired on one week when there was a Presidential Debate while some other shows did not. With all of this in mind, there are probably going to be a good many hiatuses in the new year to get the series to last until May unless NBC has some other plans to wrap things up a little earlier.
Update: It’s now confirmed that January 4 is the return date.
