TV Quick Hits: ‘Not Safe with Nikki Glaser’ canceled; ‘The Affair’ season 3 premiere online; ‘The Odd Couple’ scoop
Let’s get the bad news out of the first and foremost in this edition of TV Quick Hits: there’s not going to be any more of “Not Safe with Nikki Glaser” coming up on Comedy Central in the future.
According to Deadline, the show is coming to an end after one particularly-funny season, but the site also makes it clear that they want to continue to be in business with her in some capacity. She’s a regular over on “@midnight,” and before this she was the co-host on “Nikki & Sara Live” for a couple of seasons over on MTV. Comedy Central is still struggling somewhat to solidify their late-night lineup. It started with the end of “The Colbert Report,” but the exit of Jon Stewart from “The Daily Show” certainly did not help matters.

“The Affair” season 3 premiere online – Showtime’s got a little bit of a tradition these days of putting their premiere episodes up early; it’s almost their version of offering up catnip to encourage viewers to get hooked on some of their shows so that they end up subscribing.
If you head over to the network’s YouTube page, you can watch the aforementioned Ruth Wilson series’ first episode for the season — or at least a slightly-edited version of it to accommodate the video site’s policies. “The Affair” is one of many shows that was impacted by Showtime’s sporadic scheduling this year, which included “Homeland” being shifted to winter and “Shameless” airing two seasons within the span of a year.
“The Odd Couple” adds Jessica Walter – In what may be some of the most-exciting news of the day, the “Arrested Development” favorite is going to be joining the Matthew Perry – Thomas Lennon series as the mother of Lennon’s character Felix. Specifically, Entertainment Weekly reports that you’ll be seeing her within a Christmas-themed episode airing in December. (Photo: Comedy Central.)
