‘Supernatural’ season 12, episode 4 preview: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles go off the grid
The moment that we first learned that the next new episode of “Supernatural” was entitled “American Nightmare,” of course we thought of “American Horror Story.” We’re not quite sure if that’s what they were going for, but the two shows do have a little bit in common in that they’re both weird in terms of content and feature some bizarre happenings you won’t find in other places. With that said, we do very much think that “Supernatural” is a consistently better show, and it also has the element of humor going for it as well.

Synopsis – “Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate a case that leads them to a devout religious family that lives off the grid. The brothers realize that the parents are hiding a huge secret that could destroy them all. Meanwhile, Dean struggles to accept Mary’s (guest star Samantha Smith) latest decision.”
Promo – We’re not going to say too much on the synopsis independently, mostly because it does tend to bleed into this promo in its own way. Apparently, this undercover mission for the boys is going to lead to them at one point becoming undercover priests. The idea of that is rather funny in itself, but it’s even better when you stop for a minute to think that they’re going to be asked for a minute about their relationship with God. If only some of these people knew precisely what they were going through with Chuck for most of this past season. That sounds fun, and the sort of signature story-of-the-week episode that “Supernatural” has become known for over the years.
