‘Talking Dead’ spoilers: Norman Reedus, Andrew Lincoln, Negan’s castoff, more join Chris Hardwick

talkingTonight of course marks the premiere of “The Walking Dead” on AMC, but let’s make one thing rather clear right now: This is not going to be in any way close to your typical episode of the series. There is going to be a considerable amount of buzz surrounding who Negan kills, and the network is making sure that there is plenty of time to discuss that and a wide array of other things — because, you know, there’s going to be a lot more that happens in this episode!

It’s with this in mind that AMC scheduled a few weeks back a 90-minute live “Talking Dead” special tonight from the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, one that will feature just about every person involved in the Negan decision and aftermath: Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Michael Cudlitz, Sonequa Martin-Green, Chandler Riggs, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Ross Marquand and Jeffery Dean Morgan. You’ve also got in there executive producers Robert Kirkman and Scott M. Gimple, who will hopefully be able to provide further context while also trying to calm everyone down following what happened.

This episode should serve as both a way for the fandom to heal, but then also to discuss what’s coming for the remainder of the season. The pain with Negan, after all, is still far from reaching the end of the road. There’s going to be a lot of chaos, with Morgan’s character being responsible for the vast majority of it. There’s going to be a little bit of excitement that comes in seeing how everyone recovers from his wrath … at least after the tears.

At least AMC is giving us the right outlet to better deal with the premiere, and Hardwick has certainly shown over time that he is one of the best in the business when it comes to aftershows.
