‘Chicago Med’ season 2, episode 6 preview: Sophia Bush crosses over in ‘Alternative Medicine’
Tonight, “Chicago Med” brought to the table an episode with a number of significant developments. For example, we ended up seeing precisely how Dr. Halstead, April, and Noah handled being out in the field for a dangerous situation at the Chicago Marathon. Meanwhile, there were difficult cases back at the hospital, including an elderly patient who refused to admit to selling her medication and a young mother desperate to protect her daughter, who she took away from who she thought was her abusive, dangerous father.
So where do we go following this powerful episode — otherwise known as one of the best this season? Next week’s “Extreme Measures” is going to feature a cluttered hospital, a bio-engineering lab, and a crossover appearance from “Chicago PD” star Sophia Bush for a particularly important storyline.
Synopsis – “Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) tends to a young cancer patient and struggles to inform the parents of her dire condition. Elsewhere, Dr. Reese (Rachel DiPillo) gets contacted by Danny (guest star Nick Marini), the troubled young man, and turns to Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) and Det. Lindsay (guest star Sophia Bush) for help in resolving a difficult situation. Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) and Maggie (Marlyne Barrett) do their best to clear the logjam in the hospital and Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) fine-tunes his instincts after both Dr. Latham (guest star Ato Assandoh) and Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) pick up on things he doesn’t. Meanwhile, a teenage science geek and her friends impress Dr. Choi (Brian Tee) and Natalie with their bio-engineering lab.”
Clearly, there is quite a bit of story that the show wants to cover next week, but they do have a way of being very economic with how much time they give to each character. Even with Bush on board, they will likely figure it out.
Promo – This one is incredibly informative, given that it features the return of Danny and puts Dr. Reese heavily in the spotlight for what is going to be a pretty epic, emotional event.
