‘Bull’ spoilers: ‘Jane the Virgin’ actress cast as Jason’s ex
We first heard earlier in the week that “Bull” (on CBS) was looking to expand the universe somewhat for Michael Weatherly’s title character, and that meant getting an opportunity to meet for the first time his ex-wife. Given that she also happens to be Benny’s sister, it absolutely made some sense for her to turn up on the show eventually.
Now, we know who will be playing his ex-wife and it’s a great choice. Per TVInsider, Yara Martinez (from “Jane the Virgin” fame) is set to appear on the show as Isabella Colon, a woman who works as a fashion / lifestyle guru online and of course has that lengthy romantic history with Jason. Based on our own talk with Freddy Rodriguez earlier this season, it feels as though he’s got a better relationship with his former brother-in-law than he does his own flesh and blood. Should make for a really interesting dynamic between the three of them on the show.
So how is she going to be involved in this world? Based on what we’re hearing, she appears to be tied to an upcoming case. That should prove interesting, since everyone will have to dissociate themselves from the past in order to focus entirely on the present and with Benny and his sister having some issues, this could prove to be tougher then they might think.
We know that there was a contingent of fans hoping to see Cote de Pablo cast in the role, and we do agree that would be fun given that it’s been years since the two shared a scene together. We do still think that there are countless opportunities to see her in a role down the road on this show, but for now we’re excited to see what Martinez brings to the part.
Share your thoughts on the casting below, and be sure to also head over here in the event that you didn’t see our most-recent episode review. We’ll be continuing to provide those for the remainder of the first season. (Photo: CBS.)

If CdP did ever show up on Bull, they would lose me as a viewer. Couldn’t bare for another show to be saddled with the craziness of the tiva/mote fans.
