‘Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later’ adds Alyssa Milano, retains Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, others

While you may be waiting until next year to get any concrete footage from Netflix’s upcoming “Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later,” we can at least give you a handful of details about it now.

According to a new report from Deadline, Alyssa Milano of “Mistresses” and “Charmed” fame will be appearing in the upcoming sequel to the movie / Netflix series “First Day of Camp,” which is starting to come together. We recently heard that “Royal Pains” alum Mark Feuerstein will have a significant role, and the returning cast has also now been announced: Bradley Cooper, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, Michael Ian Black, Janeane Garofalo, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Lake Bell, Michael Showalter, Christopher Meloni, A.D Milles, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, and Josh Charles. It’s a pretty wonderful group of people who had ties to either the first movie or “First Day of Camp,” and we suppose that with Showalter and David Wain still involved behind the scenes, it was easy to get everyone involved.

One of the reasons why we do think that there remains so much interest among big stars in doing this project is the sheer fun factor of it all, and that many of them like Cooper and Banks credit this for helping them find their footing in the movie business. While the film wasn’t a smash hit when it first came out, it’s become over the years a cult classic.

Also, in terms of scheduling there are so many people on board the show that you don’t necessarily have to have any particular group of people for an extremely large period of time. As we’ve reported before, Cooper basically shot the majority of his scenes over the course of the day.
