‘Dancing with the Stars 23’ spoilers: What Ryan Lochte, Jana Kramer, more will dance to on Latin Night
Monday night’s new episode of “Dancing with the Stars” is bringing out some of the Latin flavor courtesy of several passionate routines, plus a performance and guest-judging stint from none other than Pitbull. It’s a role that we’ve seen him occupy before, and while we do think that Mr. Worldwide has become a little ubiquitous as of late when it comes to his reality TV presence, it’s better to just accept it at this point than try to fight it.
Given that there are so many different Latin songs on this list we don’t know, we’re not going to spend a lot of time focusing on them, other than of course the ones that are popular tracks being made into Latin routines for this show.
Marilu Henner & Derek Hough – Cha Cha – “Echa Pa’lante” by Thalia
Laurie Hernandez & Valentin Chmerkovskiy – Salsa – “Light It Up” by Major Lazar featuring Nyla & Fuse ODG
James Hinchcliffe & Sharna Burgess – Rumba – “Need the Sun to Break” by James Bay
Not really a Latin song at all, but a pretty one that could let James show off more of a passionate side.
Calvin Johnson Jr. & Lindsay Arnold – Argentine Tango – “Hotel California” by Eagles
Easily the most random song choice of the night. Not only do we not understand what “Hotel California” has to do with the theme, we don’t know what it has to do with a tango.
Terra Jolé & Sasha Farber – Paso Doblé – “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood” by Santa Esmeralda
Jana Kramer & Gleb Savchenko – Argentine Tango – “Hands to Myself” by Selena Gomez
Wait, isn’t this a family show?
Ryan Lochte & Cheryl Burke – Salsa – “La Negra Tiene Tumbao” by Celia Cruz
Maureen McCormick & Artem Chigvintsev – Samba – “Mas Que Nada” by Sergio Mendes featuring The Black Eyed Peas
Amber Rose & Maksim Chmerkovskiy – Cha Cha – “Bla Bla Bla Cha Cha Cha” by Petty Booka
We’ll be back tomorrow with some contestant rankings — for now, head over here to read up further on which “Dancing with the Stars” pro is for sure not returning to the ballroom next season, a decision seemingly of their own making. (Photo: ABC.)
