Ratings: ‘The Blacklist,’ ‘The Good Place,’ and ‘Rosewood’ rise; ‘Notorious’ slides

This is something a little new for us this week: Reporting some positive ratings news! After all, if you look at the numbers for the past week or so, for the most part they’ve been defined by declines across the board by many shows. We’re not saying that the numbers today are a cause for mass celebration and fist-pumping by any means, but we do think there are a few things to smile about in here when it comes to the numbers.

The good news – Over on NBC, we had a little bit of a reason to celebrate as “The Good Place” (1.4) improved itself, and it actually in turn ended up finishing above “Superstore” in the ratings (1.3). “Chicago Med” help firm at its 1.3, while “The Blacklist” rose slightly to a 1.2 versus its most-recent episode. These numbers may at least give NBC something that they have not had on Thursdays in a rather-long time, and that is consistency. Granted, they also are still lacking some sort of smash hit to have people flocking to their programming block.

Also, let’s give some honorable mentions here to “How to Get Away with Murder” (1.3) and also “Pitch” (1.0), which held reasonably firm to their recent numbers. For now, that’s news that you have to look at as marginally positive, at the very least.

The bad news – For the time being, there’s nothing to press panic about in terms of the numbers on the night, though “Grey’s Anatomy” (2.3) dropped slightly versus the most-recent airing. Meanwhile, “Notorious” (1.0) also dropped slightly, but we feel like ABC would prefer not to cancel it and just let it continue to air out new episodes for the remainder of the season.
