‘Ink Master’ season 8, episode 6 video: A packing-tape flash challenge

After seeing the flash challenge last week on “Ink Master” in comparison to this one, we gotta say that Team Nunez really got the shaft. While they had to work with electricity and basically protect themselves from constant injury, Team Peck has to work with packing tape. Sure, this may still prove to be a difficult challenge, but at the same time wouldn’t you much rather have this?

We could go on and on about the balance of some of these flash challenges, but at the same time there’s no point. If balance was the point of the show we probably wouldn’t have any challenges at all beyond the basic tattoo ones.

The real challenge here beyond working with packing tape for Team Peck is that they have to try to use this stylistically to design faces. This is basically the last thing we’d want to create with almost any material, given that the form is so difficult and there are very few ways to make it look good and consistent throughout.

What we mostly wonder after watching this is precisely how much longer the whole Peck vs. Nunez twist is going to last. We’ve mentioned in the past that we liken this to a “Survivor” season, and most of the time with those what tends to happen is that come four or five episodes in, things revert somewhat to normal and the rest of the season is business as usual. You can keep the prizes the same, but we want to see all of the artists pitted against each other!
