‘This Is Us,’ ‘Bull,’ and ‘Agents of SHIELD’ big winners in DVR ratings
Some of the first live+3 ratings are in from earlier in the week, and for a few shows that were already feeling rather good about themselves, they gotta be feeling great right about now.
Let’s start with the show that is most likely the happiest right now in “This Is Us.” The dramedy from Dan Fogelman managed to increase its ratings from a 2.8 in the 18-49 demographic to a 4.2 after the fact, which is certainly something that could get us all the closer to either more episodes or a second season down the road. This marks in our mind, to be the biggest success story for NBC since “The Blacklist” in the scripted arena; sure, “Blindspot” delivered better overall ratings for the first week in the live+3 ratings; yet, at the same time “This Is Us” is really winning when it comes to critical acclaim and audience response. It’s a certified hit!
Elsewhere, the news was good when it comes to “Bull” over on CBS. This show through three days has improved its total audience from 15.6 million to 19.4 million. This made the show the network’s most-watched show of the night, even eclipsing the season premiere of “NCIS.” They have to be celebrating.
We don’t want to focus entirely here on new shows, since there is pretty notable news coming out now from “Agents of SHIELD.” The show improved over 80% in the demo on its way to a 2.0. This may be one of the saving graces for the series at the moment, given that it is not necessarily winning any ratings battles at the moment when it comes to live viewing.
