‘How to Get Away with Murder’ season 3, episode 1 video: The power of positive affirmations

“How to Get Away with Murder” is airing its season 3 premiere in a little over a day, and judging from the latest sneak peek below, Annalise Keating seems to have one very-clear motto when it comes to her present-day philosophy: Just move forward. Sometimes, tunnel vision really is the right way to go!

In the video sneak peek below, you can see Viola Davis’ character off up this strategy to her students as they inform her of the latest terrible thing going on in her life: A potentially-damning piece flier with “killer” on the front of it. Annalise’s response to it is witty, but also somewhat sad: She’s certainly been called worse in her life. She realizes that a summer has passed since some of the craziness in season 2, and she doesn’t want to dwell on what happened. Can you really blame her?

The unfortunate thing is that this preview doesn’t really tell you too much about what is going on with Wes, who was front and center for an enormous cliffhanger. We certainly hope that there is a resolution to that in the premiere, mostly because this show’s capable of giving you a few hundred different twists and turns that it doesn’t need to sit on this one.

Our biggest hope for season 3 is simple: Give us some of the drama, but at the same time, remind us that we are set in a university. For season 2, the show probably shifted a little too far from that and to the courtroom.
