‘Ink Master’ season 8, episode 5 video: Working with electricity
If the whole goal of the judges on “Ink Master” was to completely freak out the contestants with Tuesday night’s Flash Challenge, we’ve got a feeling they succeeded. There are many tough challenges that they could throw at them, but there’s something especially shocking (get it?) about working with electricity.
In the video below, you can see the focus planted on Team Nunez as they have the challenge of figuring out how to use livewires in order to etch a design onto a sheet of paper. The difficulty here is that they have to find a pattern that works for them in terms of how hard to push on the paper. If they go too hard, they risk burning it; meanwhile, if they go too soft they risk not making enough of a mark. Also, you’re working with something unpredictable and fairly dangerous. Electricity’s no joke, and there’s a reason to be afraid about being shocked while doing this. (Team Peck’s gotta feel pretty good about not having to do this one!)
The members of Team Peck had a chance to determine what the theme would be here for the Team Nunez members, and they selected underwater life. That should be fun, and it’s also extremely challenging when you think about all of the curves on something like a fish or the waves of the ocean. There’s a big incentive to go hard, especially when there is such a small pool on your team and anyone can go home.
