Emmys 2016: Rami Malek, Tatiana Maslany, ‘Mr. Robot’ top reader picks
Tonight, the Primetime Emmy Awards are upon us! This is going to be a tremendous opportunity for us to see who the Television Academy picks as the winners for each category, but let’s be honest here: We don’t work for the Television Academy; we work for our readers, and their opinions matter more than anyone else since without viewers, there would not be any of these shows to begin with.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve had many of you voting in some assorted categories to get your take on the categories. Below, you can see all of the official results!
Drama Series – The winner here was “Mr. Robot,” but by a fairly close margin.
Actor, Drama Series – This was not quite as close, given that we saw victory for “Mr. Robot” star Rami Malek by an extremely substantial margin. That could also be the case tonight.
Actress, Drama Series – She may be an underdog when it comes to the awards themselves, but Tatiana Maslany was the victor here and it really wasn’t even close. Cheers “Orphan Black” fans!
Supporting Actor, Drama Series – Peter Dinklage from “Game of Thrones.” This was close, but he still pulled it off.
Supporting Actress, Drama Series – Emilia Clarke, “Game of Thrones.” Interestingly all three of the “Game of Thrones” nominees dominated this category. We don’t know if it’ll be the same with the show.
Comedy Series – How about a trophy for “Veep”? It could be winning many others tonight.
Actor, Comedy Series – It was a pretty commanding win for “Silicon Valley” star Thomas Middleditch.
Actress, Comedy Series – In a close race, Ellie Kemper of “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” took this home.
Supporting Actress, Comedy Series – Kate McKinnon fans came out big here! The “Saturday Night Live” star had the most commanding victory of the night.
Supporting Actor, Comedy Series – Louie Anderson won for “Baskets,” and hopefully the Emmys will agree tonight.
Variety Talk Series – “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.” It wasn’t close. Not that we expected that it would be.
Reality Competition Show – “American Ninja Warrior.” We just want to see someone different win this year other than “The Amazing Race” again, and this fits the bill.
