‘The Good Wife’ CBS All Access spin-off brings back Sarah Steele as regular
The upcoming spin-off for “The Good Wife” coming to CBS All Access will officially have even more familiar faces than it did previously.
As first reported by TVLine, actress Sarah Steele is poised to reprise her role as Eli Gold’s daughter Marissa, and will even be doing so in a series-regular capacity. To date, this marks only the third actor from the original series hired on to do some sort of role in the spin-off. From the jump, Christine Baranski (Diane) and Cush Jumbo (Lucca Quinn) were on board, and this give the show all the more authenticity. While this won’t be the same exact show that existed for many years on CBS, it certainly feels as though producers Robert and Michelle King are still fully intent on trying to capture that show’s soul.
Just in case you did not here, the Kings are going to be coming back as showrunners to the spin-off, which is something that was not previously confirmed to be the case. As for the reasoning why, you mostly just have to look at the possible fate of their new show “BrainDead.” While it has not been officially announced as of yet, all signs point to that series going the way of the dodo sooner rather than later.
Don’t expect Steele’s casting to be the final one that you hear about in association with the show. After all, we definitely expect a few other familiar faces to pop up (even as a guest), and it is certainly possible that Julianna Margulies even turns up at some point. This may not be Alicia’s show anymore, but there are some reasons to imagine she will still be involved.
