‘Gotham’ season 3 spoilers: The Penguin’s new mission and much more
The third season of “Gotham” is coming to Fox on Monday night, but for the sake of this particular article, we’re going to be spending a little bit of time talking about Oswald Cobblepot and his latest ambitions later in the season — political ones. This is a character who does have a tendency to be power-hungry, so maybe we should not be altogether surprised to learn that he’s doing so here! As a matter of fact, he seems to be taking it to a completely higher level for the upcoming third episode of the season.
The title for this particular episode is “Mad City: Look Into My Eyes,” and the synopsis below (via SpoilerTV) gives you a further sense of his pursuit to go along with the arrival of the Mad Hatter to the city:
“Hypnotist Jervis Tetch/Mad Hatter (Benedict Samuel) arrives in Gotham to search for his sister, Alice (guest star Naian Gonzalez Norvind), and hires Gordon to help find her. Meanwhile, Penguin decides to run for mayor and Bruce’s doppelganger begins to channel him, causing some confusion around town.”
Obviously, we’re slightly worried about why Oswald would even want this position given that bad things tend to come out of whoever ends up elected. However, we’ll definitely still take an opportunity to see him front and center for a story.
Elsewhere in this episode, we’re equally excited to see the story of Bruce’s doppelganger take off, and it’ll also be great to see a good adaptation of Tetch in live-action formed. This remains an often-underused Batman villain aside from the comics.
