‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13 spoilers: Amelia and Owen’s dinner party

If there is one thing that we’ve definitely learned about from “Grey’s Anatomy” over the years — or really all of scripted television — it’s that dinner parties rarely go well. Somehow, there is always something that goes terribly awry that leads to tears, chaos, and a wide array of other things. If it’s a “Real Housewives” show, there’s also a perfectly good chance that someone is throwing plates.

So how will things unfold on the Shonda Rhimes drama? Well, we can tell you that a dinner party is going to be central to the upcoming September 29 episode entitled “Catastrophe and the Cure,” and the synopsis below does give you a reasonably good idea as to precisely what you can expect:

“Meredith considers her loyalties, as Alex deals with the repercussions of his actions. Newlyweds Amelia and Owen host a dinner party with unlikely guests, and Jackson proposes an arrangement to help April through her recovery.”

Ultimately, our hope in here is that if nothing else, Amelia and Owen are going to continue to be on the same page during this party, and if there is conflict, it’s geared elsewhere.

As for Meredith, we suppose that her difficult issue is this: What Alex did to Andrew is technically criminal, and she may have a responsibility to report on some of his actions. Yet, at the same time, he is a longtime friend of hers, and we don’t know precisely what Andrew’s feeling about this is going to be in the aftermath of the fight. Ultimately, we just imagine that this could test the pair’s friendship in a way that it has not been since tension first came up between the two of them and Jo.
