‘Gotham’ season 3 has a new poster (and subtitle)
The last we saw a poster for “Gotham” season 3, it bore with it the title of “Heroes Will Fall.” That didn’t exactly have the same ring to it as “Rise of the Villains” or “Wrath of the Villains,” mostly because it sounded like a fairly-cheesy line that some sort of promo announcer would read out.
Now, we come bearing a brand-new tagline courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, and this one feels a tad more appropriate to what we know about the current state of the title town: “Mad City.” This place is crazy, and this poster is a pretty amazing reflection of that. Inside Jim Gordon’s crystal ball here are many of the villains that you’re going to be seeing once more on this coming season, including Oswald Cobblepot, the returning Fish Mooney, Edward Nygma, and many others. You also have the older Poison Ivy, as played by Maggie Geha this time around.
Is Jim going to be able to handle all of these villains? It’s not going to be easy, and given that many of them turn out to be Batman adversaries, we figure that part of the problem this show faces is how to make Jim feel somewhat like a hero even if he fails at taking some heroes down. We’ll see what happens.
As the poster indicates, the new season is going to be starting up on Monday, September 19, and we’re certainly looking forward to sharing a little bit more news every step of the way.
