‘Arrow’ season 5 spoilers: ‘Justified’ alum finds himself involved in Bratva storyline
When “Arrow” returns for its fifth season this fall, you’re going to continue to see a wide array of different characters aboard the series — and of course, to go along with that, storylines.
Today, what we have learned via Deadline is that former “Justified” actor David Meunier is going to recur on the series in the role of Ishmael Gregor, a powerful member of the Russian Bratva organization and someone who could yield the sort of power and influence to damage Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell). There were some connections to magic with this character in the comics, but given recent claims that the show will be more grounded this time around, we imagine that there will be some other avenues that the writers choose to explore instead on the show.
One of the primary themes for the fifth season at present seems to be figuring out a way to cement more of Oliver’s legacy. Away from the costume and the persona, he will be doing that by helping to ensure Star City is better cared for as Mayor. Meanwhile, within the costume he is going to be doing what he can to help further train and assist some future heroes. He recognizes that it takes more than one person to turn things around, and there are some other ways for him to use his power.
Rest assured that as soon as there is some further news to report on when it comes to “Arrow” season 5, we’ll have it for you here.
