‘Ballers’ season 2, episode 8 spoilers: How does Spencer move forward?
At the end of Sunday night’s new episode of “Ballers,” Spencer Strasmore found himself in arguably the most delicate position that he has been in since the start of the series. After all, just remember for a minute that we saw him get dismissed from ASM after it was determined that the NFLPA ultimately does not want anything to do with him. He had covered up some of his past financial transgressions, and in between that and his pill addiction, it’s pretty darn clear that he is not the sort of guy who the vast majority of sports agents out there want representing / working with their players.
There is no new episode on Sunday due to Labor Day Weekend; to help ease the pain, HBO was kind enough to release the synopsis for “Laying in the Weeds,” which is the September 11 installment that will offer up some additional scoop as to how Dwayne Johnson’s character plans to move forward, and what Charles’ next move could be when he learns that Ricky Jerret landed a more lucrative offer elsewhere:
“As Spencer (Dwayne Johnson) tries to move forward, Joe (Rob Corddry) works to keep things together. Charles (Omar Benson Miller) and Ricky (John David Washington) clash. Travis (Adam Aalderks) faces tough questions and worries about his prospects. At his draft day party, Spencer asks for help, while trying to keep ASM’s latest developments quiet.”
Could Spencer still be trying to keep up a facade, despite not actually having his job anymore? If that’s the case, he could find himself in even greater peril … though things are already pretty bad for him. That’s why we are hoping that him “asking for help” means that he could be trying to actually cure the pill problem.
