‘Ballers’ season 2, episode 8 preview: When will Dwayne Johnson, cast return?
Tonight, “Ballers” aired a new episode on HBO that was surprisingly late thanks to “The Night Of” airing its finale. Yet, at the same time we’ll give the show props for giving us an episode that really pushed the story forward, and also give us an opportunity to see Dwayne Johnson really play a Spencer Strasmore with his back against the wall. That’s something that we’ve been wanting to see with this series for quite some time.
So when are we going to see the show back for more? Well, you’re going to be waiting for two weeks (i.e. September 11) to see the next move. The show is heading off the air next weekend for one reason and one reason only: Labor Day Weekend. Why air it? There’s no reason for the show to put something on the air when there is a lesser pool of viewers available. Sure, HBO doesn’t care about live viewers as much as commercial-based networks, but overall ratings do matter!
There are still three episodes left this season, and we have to figure out just how Spencer is going to get himself out of this situation. Meanwhile, it’s going to be even more fun to see what is coming up next for Ricky Jerret and Charles after the big offer was made … but possibly not accepted.
