‘Mistresses’ season 4 spoilers: First tease on upcoming finale

The first thing that you should know about the season 4 finale of “Mistresses” is that it’s going to be coming at a slightly different time than you may have expected: Tuesday, September 6 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. Rather than push the show into ABC’s fall season / “Dancing with the Stars,” the drama will be coming to a close in just a little over a week. We’ll have three episodes coming in just eight days!

As for the second thing you should know, consider this: Per the network’s official synopsis, there is going to be a pretty substantial time jump between this episode and much of the season that came before it. We don’t want to give too much away with that, but let’s just say that it both resolves some problems and opens up new ones at the same time.

Finally, the last thing that you should remember here is that there is a chance that this could end up being the series finale for the show to go along with it being the end of the season. The ratings have not been great, and we presume that the show’s performance was not lost on the writers as they started to contemplate various ideas. You want to be prepared for almost everything, and it certainly appears as though they were with this story. If this is the end of the road, there’ll probably be enough in here to be satisfied. If there’s more, then maybe you’ll have a small cliffhanger that will give the writers a little bit of something to build on.
