‘NCIS’ season 14 spoilers: First promo teases Jennifer Esposito, Wilmer Valderrama arrival

After a summer full of changes, “NCIS” is returning this fall with new episodes. Luckily, you don’t have to wait any further to see some of the first footage from it!

The latest promo below comes via Entertainment Weekly, and it features your first look at Jennifer Esposito as Special Agent Alex Quinn and Wilmer Valderrama as Special Agent Nick Torres. Both are bringing a lot to the table in terms of skills, and they’ve also got plenty of personality.

We’d say that of the two, Esposito is the real scene-stealer here since her character has a good bit of sass, and has no problem going toe-to-toe with a guy like Gibbs at certain moments (which is something Gibbs needs in his life every now and then). The two do have a history that dates back many years, and he apparently convinces her to become a part of the team after he turned away a series of prior candidates.

Meanwhile, the most notable thing that Valderrama’s Torres says in the preview is that he’s never been a real part of a team before, so this is somewhat of a new experience and dynamic for him to be in this situation. While we think that he will learn to work with a team over time, we would like to see some of the growing pains that comes along with a big transition like this.

CBS is clearly aware that there could be questions or concerns about whether or not some of their diehard fans will respond to there being so many new members of the team. After all, they’ve carefully opted to include a reminder that this is the “same family” experience that you’ve come to know and love, and that the series is very much worth watching still.
