‘Outcast’ season 2 spoilers: Madeleine McGraw promoted to series regular
You can probably file the following under “expected but welcome” news: We have a new series-regular promotion over on Cinemax’s “Outcast.”
According to a new report coming in from Deadline, Madeleine McGraw has been officially promoted to series regular for the upcoming second season, which officially means that you will be seeing a good bit more of Kyle Barnes’ daughter Amber. When you think about where we are in the story following the end of season 1, this certainly makes some sense. We have learned that Amber possesses some of the same abilities as her father, which means in terms that she has to live with the subsequent blessing / curse that goes along with it. Kyle has spent most of his life a tortured soul, and the connection that seems to exist between him and the demons he exorcises makes it all the more harrowing.
The second season of “Outcast” is already filming, which is an extremely-quick turnaround given when season 1 ended. Basically, the writers had to start crafting stories for season 2 without knowing precisely how viewers responded to all of season 1. That’s a difficult proposition, but at the same time it shows that Robert Kirkman and company have confidence in their work, and it was merited. This show week in and week out proved to be so much more than just horror; it was one of the most well-acted and thought-provoking series of the summer.
We imagine that there’ll be much more to report on during the hiatus; once more is announced, we’ll have it for you here.
