‘The Fosters’ season 4, episode 9 preview: Brandon, Cortney say goodbye

We obviously mean the title above for Monday night’s “The Fosters” episode to be somewhat metaphorical. Yet, at the same time, we do have a feeling that this episode could be the swan song for this relationship. Doesn’t anyone else get that vibe from watching the new sneak peek below?

The content of the preview itself is rather simple in that Brandon says goodbye to his girlfriend Cortney before heading to what is the biggest audition of his life at Julliard. If he gets in there, he has a chance to alter his life in an incredibly dramatic way. It’s a big opportunity, but one who could shake things up for his relationship if it happens. What happens if he moves to the other side of the country? Do Mason and Cortney follow him, or do they stay at the house? There are also potential custody battles to think about and an avalanche of financial obstacles that come with living in the Big Apple.

There’s one other complication that could come Brandon and Cortney’s way, and it’s the notion of him meeting someone else who makes his question his future. The synopsis that is out there for this episode does raise that question as a possibility.

Ultimately, we’ll have some other news to share on this episode before it airs, but we’ll close things off here by saying that what we have enjoyed about this relationship is that they’ve never made Cortney out into someone who has tried to take advantage of Brandon in any way. She’s been as supportive as she can be given the circumstances, and there have been plenty of them.
