‘Arrow’ season 5 brings Human Target to Star City with ‘Jessica Jones’ actor
Human Target as a character already has a storied life on television. There have been two separate adaptations to date, and while neither of them lasted long, they both had their share of fans.
Now, we’ve got an opportunity to see how the character fares within the world of “Arrow.” TVLine is reporting that Wil Traval (most recently known for “Jessica Jones”) has been cast for the character, otherwise known as Christopher Chance. He is a hero known for assuming the identity of the target of various assassins, and when he appears in Star City he may be coming to the assistance of a certain Oliver Queen.
Seeing this character is largely exciting in that he is the most well-known comic character to appear on this show, beyond of course the obvious crossovers, since maybe Vixen or Constantine. Not only that, but adding him to the equation here makes it all the more obvious precisely how much danger Oliver could be in. He already was a target thanks to his work as the Arrow, but now there is that very-real chance that people could go after him the person.
Random thought: Wouldn’t it be rather cool if the series opted to make it a tradition to have the fifth episode of each “Arrow” season be one where a familiar comic-book character appears? Last year that was Constantine, and apparently Traval is also going to be turning up in episode 5. Can we make season 6’s Batman? Maybe that’s reaching a little too much for the stars since DC Comics isn’t signing off on him just yet.
