‘Doctor Who’ season 10 rumor: Could Peter Capaldi, cast film in Vancouver?
A rumor compiled by Twitter sources over at Cultbox makes it clear that Peter Capaldi recently told fans near set they would be filming in the British Columbia city later this year, and if true, this is the sort of goatee-scratching idea we’d sign off on! Vancouver has become almost a haven for television filming, given that everything from “Once Upon a Time” to “iZombie” to the entire CW superhero lineup already films there. The same goes for “Supernatural” and “UnREAL.” It’s a more cost-effective destination than Los Angeles, and another part of the appeal comes from how the varied geography makes for a wide array of different things you can do. One scene can be in the snow, and then the next can be in a dense forest or a vast city-space that can double for New York City, San Francisco, or so many other places rather effectively.
There’s still a stretch of time between now and then, and presumably that’s long enough to decipher the truthfulness of the users’ claims. We don’t feel like there’s any reason for this to be untrue, so we shall see.
Season 10 of the series won’t be landing the Tardis on BBC One until 2017 unfortunately, with the later start date being one of the primary reasons for that. There will be a Christmas Special later this year, so hang your stockings with care for that!
