Is ‘MasterChef’ season 7, episode 12 new tonight on Fox? A look at what lies ahead

MasterChef -

Want there to be some more “MasterChef” on the air? We’re right there with you, but unfortunately you’re going to have to be patient a little while longer in order to check it out. After all, for the second straight week there is no new episode coming your way on Fox.

So what’s the reasoning behind the move? Well, blame the Olympics once again for it … but can you really blame the network for wanting their show to get good ratings? This is the final week of the Games from Rio, so rest assured that you are going to get the return of this show in just a matter of seven days. Not only that, but there will be two episodes airing back to back as a way to make up for the absence this time around.

To make the waiting all the easier, the synopsis below (via TV Guide) does give you a sense as to what is coming up:

“In the first half of a combined episode, “Top Chef” Season 7 winner Kevin Sbraga is the guest judge and cooks alongside the remaining nine contestants as they create a dish using premium ingredients. Then, the Top 8 cooks face a three-part skill test involving potatoes.”

The first episode certainly does excite us a lot on the surface just because of Sbraga’s presence. Season 7 of “Top Chef” was our first season covering the show, so it has a special place in our heart. Plus, we still fondly remember that even he seemed surprised that he won the competition in the end.
