‘Bachelor in Paradise 3’ review: The Jared Haibon – Ashley Iaconetti saga continues
If there’s one thing that we have learned over time when it comes to the “Bachelor in Paradise” franchise, it is this: They will milk Ashley Iaconetti for every possible drop of drama. Tonight, it revolved in part around her crying, other people commenting on her crying, to eventually her going on a date with Daniel Maguire and being very distracted.
Also, Daniel is precious. We have a feeling that he may not be taking this seriously in the slightest, but at this point we don’t really care. So long as you’re entertaining, just stick around and give us some material. He’s at least giving us that, since we’re honestly rather tired of “How the World Doesn’t Turn” starring Ashley, who still thinks she and Jared Haibon can make things work. Jared, meanwhile, seems rather smitten with Caila Quinn for the time being.
Elsewhere in this episode, we had the arrival of the much-desired Jen, someone Nick Viall had been hoping to be with more or less since he first arrived in the premiere. The two quickly grew close, though an incident with some crabs on the beach offered up some temporary chaos.
Eventually, the episode of course went back to the main drama-points: Evan Bass still needs medical attention after his drunken stupor, and Ashley and Jared are still hashing things out. For whatever reason, this series acts as though these two have never talked about this show since last year, and we cannot imagine this is true. We still don’t know why producers even wanted to do this same storyline again given how drawn-out it was the first time. It’s really starting to bog what is at times a decent season down. Grade: C.
