‘Gotham’ season 3 spoilers: Another look at Poison Ivy 2.0
While most of the information out there regarding Ivy Pepper on “Gotham” season 3 suggests that the producers are going for a complete and total reboot of the character, we have a little evidence now that this may not be entirely the case.
The new photo above (per TVInsider) is of Maggie Geha’s version of the character, and you’ll notice that in terms of her outfit and her hairstyle, there is not necessarily too huge a difference between this and Clare Foley’s version of the character. The first photo we saw of the new Ivy was a glammed-up promotional photo, and that made us think more so that the series was going strictly in a comic-book direction where she would be almost an instant seductress.
If you haven’t heard much about older Ivy this summer, the base explanation for what is going on is this: Ivy has a run-in with an escapee from Indian Hill who has the ability to shave years off of a person’s life. They get a hold of Ivy, and she goes from being a girl to a young woman overnight. While this does show the power of an scientist like Hugo Strange, we also think this was a smart way to write in a creative change that the writers wanted to make, and one that we get given there wasn’t that much for the younger Ivy to do on the show at this point.
The series starts a little bit later this fall, and we are excited to see precisely what the writers have planned. Stay tuned for more of the latest updates!
