‘Gotham’ season 3 spoilers: More news on Valerie Vale

“Gotham” has certainly done just about everything that it can to attach famous figures from the world of Batman to its story, and while we’re not getting famed reported Vicki Vale on the series, we’re getting someone else with a close connection in her Aunt. She is also a reporter, and all early indications suggest that she is going to be doing everything that she can to get to the bottom of what happened at Indian Hill.

Jamie Chung (“Once Upon a Time”) has been cast as this character, and in a new interview with TVLine, she details precisely some of what is coming up for her role:

“You find Valerie in the midst of it all asking the tough questions, trying to get to the core of the story … think the question is whose skin she doesn’t get under. She’ll give the cops a lead, but continues to show up — and that makes it difficult for them to do their job.”

Ultimately, we consider this a good reminder that Vale is a servant for the public as opposed to one for the police — she’ll help them, but only if it helps herself and also gives the readers more of the truth. What is intriguing about this character through the lens of this show is that it allows us a chance to have a character featured who is in opposition to the GCPD, but not in the way that is malicious. Both have intentions that are good on some level, but they have a different way of doing things.
