‘Masters of Sex’ season 4 spoilers: Lizzy Caplan hints at Bill, Virginia’s next phase

The fourth season of “Masters of Sex” is coming to Showtime later this year, and we’re venturing further into the sixties. With that comes opportunities for these characters to learn and grow, and also to look back at some of what they’ve done and said in the past.

Specifically for Bill Masters and Virginia Johnson, maybe this is a chance to (eventually) gravitate back to each other after spending such a great deal of time apart and in other pursuits. Time wil have passed between seasons, and give where we know history takes these two, odds are that you are going to have a chance to see the two parties together. It’s just a matter of when.

Speaking to reporters at the TCA Summer Press Tour on this particular topic (per TVLine), Lizzy Caplan noted that the “most interesting stuff to play has been realizing that all these men that have loved Virginia. Men tend to become very obsessed with Virginia, they tend to fixate on one part of who she is. There’s only one man who knows Virginia in her entirety and still feels a great deal of love for her, and that is Bill.” So, despite everything that the two of them have been through, there’s always that connection that could draw them back to each other.
