‘Castle’ alum Stana Katic books stage role; new movie to have Lifetime TV premiere
We discussed last week Nathan Fillion’s first TV role since “Castle” on “Modern Family.” Now, it only feels appropriate to discuss what his former co-star Stana Katic is going to be up to.
Per Broadway World, the actress is going to be appearing in “White Rabbit Red Rabbit” in New York on September 26. Per the website, the play is billed as follows: “No rehearsal. No director. No set. No spoilers. A different performer each night is handed the script for the first time as they step onto the stage.” Ultimately, this sounds incredibly interesting and also terrifying.
Katic joins Billy Porter and Justin Bartha as recently-announced performers for the month of September; Michael Urie will be the performer on August 22, while Darren Criss will appear on August 29. The performance will be at the Westside Theatre.
Meanwhile, TVLine reports that “Sister Cities,” an independent film Katic worked on last year with “Pretty Little Liars” actress Troian Bellisario and others, will have its world television premiere on Lifetime come Saturday, September 17.
As for some of the other “Castle” alumni, we know that Jon Huertas has a role on the upcoming “This Is Us,” and we’re waiting for some other TV announcements from some of the other key players. We could see more news coming later this year / early next year via pilot season, given that by the time ABC canceled the show, almost all of the pilots were cast and the only major roles would come via recasting.
Ultimately, the good news for Stana fans is that one way or another, you’ll have a chance to see her later this year — whether it be on stage or on the screen.
