‘Ballers’ season 2, episode 4 preview: Things get personal with Spencer, Andre
While Andre has yet to show himself to be the flashiest villain in the world on HBO’s “Ballers,” he has proved to be something equally dangerous: Incredibly good at his job. He is powerful, and a significant threat to Spencer Strasmore, because of what he can do. He may not have the playing experience and personal connection to players that he does, but he is still more than capable of selling them on his business acumen alone.
So after falling victim to Andre trying to steal his clients out from under him, Spencer’s going to try and get even on Sunday night’s new episode. Using the help of Joe, the two guys are going venture out to find some sort of dirt on the guy. By the end of it, it certainly looks possible that they’ve got something … or if nothing else, they think they’ve got something. There’s a difference.
Our concern for Spencer is mostly born out of the notion that he’s dealing with someone who’s been around this business for a while, and didn’t have the former-athlete status to help give him a boost. Basically, he’s getting ugly with a hut who has a history of getting ugly and doing underhanded things to get what he wants.
Elsewhere in this episode, get ready to see Jason make some bold moves to try to win a client over, Ricky try to understand his father more in the wake of him turning up, and Charles facing some more issues on the field after being told to make a position change.
